If you want to go you must email us so that we can book cheap train tickets. We’ll send more details out nearer the time. As a treat we will buy everyone fish n chips (or other suitable veggie option)!

If you’re interested in coming, drop us an email.  For updates about Trans Pride in Brighton click here.

Our GI facilitator Jake will meet all young members wishing to partake in this year’s London Pride at the Southbank end of the Hungerford bridge.  This bridge is a footbridge which goes from Embankment Train Station to the Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank. In the picture below you can see the bottom of the stairs to the Hungerford Bridge, just in front of the Royal Festival Hall. We’ll meet you at the top of the stairs!

In discussion at a session it was decided that - as not all young people are ‘out’ as trans or gender queer - we will not march in the parade.  Instead we will come together watch the parade from the Embankment and head into Trafalgar Square to watch the performances and soak up the atmosphere.

Please bring your own lunch! If you get lost call or text: 07841 291 277. You can also ask! There will be lots of happy and friendly LGBTQ people making their way to the celebrations! Enjoy and don’t forget to look out for Jay Stewart who has a slot on the big screen telling the world about Gendered Intelligence and how to get involved! All whoops and cheers are welcome!

Pride sports are holding a FREE basketball taster session for trans guys in Manchester on the 6th of June.

FREE Dance Workshops for young LGBT people - MOVE: Challenging Gender Roles Through Dance

genderedintelligence:

Have you ever fancied trying Urban Dance, Latin or Tango? Do you want to get fit in a trans-positive environment?

MOVE with Gendered Intelligence is a project to create opportunities for young Trans, queer, LGB and questioning people to get involved in dance in a safe non-judgemental environment.

Each workshop will focus on a different dance style. Come to as many or few sessions as you like! We want to challenge gender norms through dance. The sessions are open to those aged 14-25 and identify themselves as trans, queer or LGBQ (or both!). Those that attend will be invited to take part in a performance at World Pride Day and the Trans Community Conference 2012.

When:

Latin Dance - Thursday 28th June 6-9pm
Street Dance - Saturday 30th June 2-5pm
Queer Tango - Wednesday 4th July 6-9pm

How
Contact Rachel on movement@genderedintelligence.co.uk to register your interest. As always, you don’t need to be a GI youth group member or have attended any GI events before to come along, but it’d be great to know you’re thinking of coming so we can plan the session!
